Ancient Murrelet

25 cm (10") Uncommon. Pacific coast. Black above, white below. Short pale yellowish bill. Black crown contrasts with gray back. White wing linings.

Breeding: white streaks on head give it an "old" look, black throat and chin. Stragglers occur far inland.
