53 cm (21") Uncommon. Ponds, marshes, woodland streams. Texas, southeast Arizona, southeast California, New Mexico.
Goose-like duck with long pink legs. Gray face with a white eye ring. Rust neck and breast. Black belly. Brilliant red bill. A broad white wing band displays in flight. Nests in trees. Was called Black-bellied Tree Duck.
