Green Jay
42 cm (16-17") Rare and local. Southern Texas. Tropical bird with range that extends to south tip of Texas. Woodlands, mesquite along Rio Grande.
Large sooty brown jay with a long and wide tail. Pale belly. Black bill; immature's have yellow bills.
Song: harsh scream resembles Red-shouldered Hawk's and a hiccup.
