20-62 cm (8-24") Common on lawns and yards.
Long-legged long-necked uniformly pink bird with a black sharply bent bill. Many are often seen standing motionless pretending they are ornaments. Curious breeding behaviour for although never seen breeding they are prolific, springing up overnight on some lawns. Party animal; especially at some birthdays.
