Northern Beardless-Tyrannulet

11 cm (5") Rare. Southeastern Arizona, southwestern New Mexico, southern Texas. Low deciduous growth near streams.

Small, plain grayish, tiny billed bird. Told from similar Ruby-crowned Kinglet by its buffy wing bars and lack of bold eye ring.

Song: loud whistled "pee-yerp".
