Olive Warbler

Peucedramus taeniatus

13 cm (5") Uncommon. Southeastern Arizona, southwestern New Mexico. High mountains. Open coniferous forests; high in trees.

Gray back. Broad black patch on face from bill to ear broadens behind eye. Two white wing bars.

Male: tawny-brown head, throat and breast. 

Female: olive crown; yellow face, throat and breast.

Song: similar to call of Tufted Titmouse - "peeta peeta peeta".
