Vaux's Swift

Chaetura vauxi

Also known as: Dusky-backed Swift

12 cm (5") Fairly common. Replaces the very similar Chimney Swift west of Rockies. Nests in hollow trees in dense forests, seldom in chimneys.

Cigar-shaped body. Short, stubby tail.

Song: call is a fast insect-like twitter.
