Wrens Family

Troglodytidae

The Wrens. They are small, restless brown birds with finely barred , narrow, rounded tails that are often cocked upward. Their slender, slightly curved bills are used to feed mainly on insects. Although shy and quick, and thus often difficult to see in underbrush, they are highly territorial and may take to an open perch to scold or give song. Their songs are often of surprising volume, length and pleasing musical quality.
