18 cm (7") Fairly common. Southeastern Arizona, southwestern New Mexico. Sycamore and oak canyons, streamside woods.
Dark bushy crest. Brown olive back. Gray throat and breast. Yellow belly and undertail coverts. Dark tail with a little rufous on it. Similar to the larger Ash-throated Flycatcher.
Song: distinctive drawled downward "peeur".
