Northern Fulmar

48 cm (19") Wings 107 cm (42") Common. Open ocean. May be seen in large flocks near fishing boats. Gull-like bird with nostril tube on a thick yellow bill. Short tail. Two uniform color phases. Mostly light phase seen in Atlantic, dark phase in Pacific. Stiff-winged gliding flight.
