24 cm (9-10") Rare. Southern Arizona (Guadeloupe Canyon), southern California, southwestern New Mexico.

Large kingbird with a very thick bill. Dusky brown upperparts. White throat, pale gray breast, pale yellow on belly and undertail coverts.

Song: loud "puareet".
