White-winged Dove

31 cm (12") Common. Southern United States. Desert towns. citrus groves, mesquite, open woods.

The only dove with large white wing patch. Resembles Mourning Dove with a shorter, white-edged, rounded tail.

Song: long drawn out cooing including a "who-cooks-for-you".
