The true thrushes are medium-sized mostly insectivorous or omnivorous birds in the genus Turdus of the thrush family Turdidae.
Some New World species are called robins, the most famous of which is the American Robin. Several species are migratory.
North American species include the Eyebrowed Thrush Turdus obscurus, Dusky Thrush Turdus naumanni, Fieldfare Turdus pilaris, Redwing Turdus iliacus, Clay-colored Thrush Turdus grayi, Rufous-backed Robin Turdus rufopalliatus and the American Robin, Turdus migratorius.
