13 cm (5") Fairly common. Nests on ground in moist woods, dense undergrowth.
Gray hood.
Male: lack eye ring and may have black on throat and breast. Greenish back and wings. Yellow lower breast, belly, and undertail coverts.
Female: duller and have a thin eye ring.
Secretive and skulky hopping through underbrush. Similar Connecticut and MacGillivray's Warblers have distinctive eye rings.
Song: "chirry, chirry, chorry, chorry".
