This genus is comprised of 4 species: Kentucky Warbler, Mourning Warbler, Connecticut Warbler, and MacGillivray's Warbler. They are olive above, yellow below, often with an eye-ring and other facial markings. These birds are sluggish and heavy warblers with short tails, preferring to spend most of their time on, or near the ground, except when singing. They all have light legs. The Connecticut Warbler walks on the ground whereas the others hop. They have chanting songs.
