12 cm (5") Fairly common in aspen and spruce woods. Nests on ground across northern North America.
Stubby bird with a short tail. Resembles Warbling and Red-eyed Vireos but has a smaller thinner bill and a green back. Eyebrow stripe.
Male: gray crown and green back. White undertail coverts. Bold white eyebrow stripe. Only warbler with completely white underparts in spring.
Female and Immature: shows yellow or olive on underside.
Usually feeds in high branches.
Song: loud chips, more rapid at the end.
