This genera, of North American Warblers, contains 9 very small to medium-small warblers. They are: Bachman's Warbler (Extinct), Blue-winged Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler, Tennessee warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Virginia Warbler, Colima Warbler and Lucy's Warbler.
The birds in this genera have sharply pointed bills without strongly contrasting patterns. Some specialize in obtaining nectar in the nonbreeding season. Some routinely forage in dead leaves. Except for Lucy's Warbler they nest on or near the ground. Songs are generally simple trills or buzzes.
