13 cm (5") Fairly common in coniferous or mixed forests in Canada and eastern United States.
Male: upperparts olive-green. Yellow face with green ear patch. Black throat. Whitish underparts may be tinged with yellow. Two white wing bars.
Female and Immature: olive-green upperparts. Yellow face. Some black on throat and sides otherwise white underparts. Two white wing bars.
Song: is slow lispy dreamy "zoo zee zoo zoo zee".
